On 5 August 2026, High Commissioner H.E. Innocent B. Muhizi met with Ms. Juhi McClelland, Managing Partner for IBM Consulting Asia Pacific, to discuss opportunities to support Rwanda’s ambitions in innovation, digital transformation and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).
The meeting highlighted Rwanda’s growing focus on leveraging technology and innovation to strengthen its position as a regional hub. Digital transformation and emerging technologies such as AI are increasingly important to Rwanda’s development agenda, with opportunities for collaboration offering potential to support the country’s digital ecosystem.
Discussions also centred on the role that IBM Consulting could play in supporting Rwanda’s technological ambitions. Through expertise in digital transformation, technology and AI, potential collaboration could contribute to strengthening capabilities and advancing innovative solutions aligned with Rwanda’s development priorities.
The engagement reflects Rwanda’s continued efforts to build partnerships with leading global technology and consulting firms while promoting responsible and sustainable adoption of emerging technologies. Collaboration in these areas could further enhance Rwanda’s position as a regional centre for innovation and digital transformation.
