Venezuela’s Ambassador to Singapore joined the high-level conference examining ASEAN’s economic resilience amid a changing global geopolitical landscape.
H.E. Jessica María López, Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to Singapore, attended the 10th ASEAN Conference in Singapore, organised by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) under the theme “The Future of ASEAN in a Fractured World”.
The conference gathered government, diplomatic and business leaders to discuss ASEAN’s economic resilience. During the ministerial panels, Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong highlighted the region’s continued integration despite growing global fragmentation.
Discussions covered the reconfiguration of global supply chains, the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA) and global protectionism. Philippine Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque also addressed opportunities in digital trade and technology infrastructure, with Southeast Asia’s digital economy projected to reach US$2 trillion by 2030.
During the conference, H.E. Jessica María López exchanged views with corporate and diplomatic representatives from the region and highlighted Venezuela’s strategic advantages and commercial potential in the changing global economy.
