The celebration at the Swiss Club also coincided with the Club’s 155th anniversary and featured speeches, a federal message, music and Swiss traditions.
The Swiss community in Singapore celebrated Swiss National Day at the Swiss Club, commemorating 735 years of Swiss history alongside the 155th anniversary of the Swiss Club Singapore.
The programme began with remarks by Swiss Club President Mr. Thomas von Rueti, followed by Chargée d’affaires a.i. Ms. Regula Kurzbein. Attendees also watched a message to the Swiss Abroad by Federal Councillor Mr. Guy Parmelin.
Cultural elements included a special yodelling performance by Cadence and a rendition of the Swiss National Anthem by the Swiss Alpine Lions. The Embassy of Switzerland Singapore supported the celebration by sponsoring aperitif wines.
