SFDA delegation discussed Saudi healthcare opportunities with Singapore companies in Singapore.
H.E. Prof. Hisham S. Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), and his delegation visited Singapore for a closed-door engagement with more than 40 Singapore businesses. The discussion focused on Saudi Arabia’s regulatory landscape and opportunities for Singapore companies to contribute to the Kingdom’s healthcare, life sciences and innovation ambitions.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the Saudi delegation to hear directly from Singapore companies with capabilities in healthcare, biotechnology, medical technology and diagnostics. The discussion also examined potential areas of cooperation, including clinical research and development, manufacturing and localisation, technology transfer, distribution partnerships, training and longer-term innovation initiatives.
Healthcare and medical technology were identified as areas with potential to contribute to Singapore-Saudi cooperation. Saudi Arabia is undertaking healthcare sector development under Vision 2030, with opportunities in biotechnology, genomics, precision medicine, clinical research, manufacturing and localisation.
Participating Singapore companies included Osteopore International, which develops 3D-printed bioresorbable implants for bone regeneration and reconstructive surgery; Hummingbird Bioscience, a precision antibody therapeutics company; S2 Biosciences, which provides biotechnology and diagnostic solutions; and NDR Medical Technology, which develops AI-powered robotic systems for image-guided minimally invasive procedures.
Other participants included MiRXES, which specialises in molecular diagnostics and early cancer detection; Biobot Surgical, which develops robotic-assisted technologies for prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment; Inspire Healthcare, which provides wellness, nutrition and healthcare solutions; and East-West Group, which provides healthcare technologies supporting diabetes monitoring and management.
Participants were encouraged to identify practical next steps following the engagement, including preparing regulatory submissions, resolving technical questions, identifying Saudi partners or distributors, exploring clinical collaborations, and pursuing manufacturing, localisation or technology-transfer opportunities.
The Saudi delegation included Alaa F. Sendi, Assistant President for Executive Affairs Sector; Yahya I. Alnujaym, Executive Director of Investment Development; and Khalid N. Almesfair, Executive Director of International Cooperation. The delegation’s engagement with Singapore companies provided a platform for direct discussion on regulatory matters and potential business and innovation opportunities in Saudi Arabia.
