Chinese Ambassador to Singapore H.E. Cao Zhongming marked the opening of Singapore-Shandong Week, highlighting three decades of growing investment and cooperation between Shandong and Singapore.
H.E. Cao Zhongming, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore, attended the Shandong-Singapore Economic and Trade Cooperation Conference and the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Singapore-Shandong Week. During the visit, he also toured the Shandong Culture · The Qi and Lu Spirit exhibition, which showcases Shandong’s intangible cultural heritage.
Shandong province is known for both its cultural heritage and its industrial base. Over the past 30 years, Shandong and Singapore have achieved significant progress in promoting two-way investment and interconnectivity, reflecting a longstanding economic relationship between the two.
Ambassador Cao expressed hope that companies from both sides would continue to seize opportunities, make better plans for cooperation, and explore potential areas of alignment, in order to deepen and strengthen Shandong-Singapore cooperation further.
The Singapore-Shandong Week serves as a platform for showcasing both the cultural heritage and economic opportunities that connect Shandong province with Singapore, reinforcing the broader relationship between China and Singapore at the provincial level.
Ambassador Cao’s attendance underscores the Chinese Embassy’s continued engagement with provincial-level economic and cultural exchange initiatives, which form an important part of the broader China-Singapore relationship.
