Mongolia’s Ambassador to Singapore held discussions with the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise on potential joint initiatives spanning digital governance, cybersecurity, renewable energy and rare earth elements.
Her Excellency Ms Ganbold Uyanga, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Singapore, met with Mr Kong Wy Mun, Chief Executive Officer of the Singapore Cooperation Enterprise (SCE), and Mr Lim Chee Kian, Deputy Director for Northeast Asia, on 21 September 2026.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation between Mongolia and Singapore, discussing potential joint initiatives between relevant organisations from the two countries. The discussions covered a wide range of areas, including social protection and savings systems, sovereign wealth fund management, digital governance, cybersecurity, carbon markets, renewable energy, data centres, fuel supply, and rare earth elements.
The SCE expressed its readiness to explore conducting a cybersecurity assessment of Mongolia’s digital systems and providing professional advisory services. It also indicated the possibility of organising training and capacity-building programmes for public and private-sector representatives in the field of carbon credit mechanisms.
Both sides agreed to continue exploring opportunities to arrange meetings between relevant officials during an upcoming visit, with the aim of supporting the development of concrete projects and business partnerships between Mongolia and Singapore.
The meeting shows the growing scope of cooperation between the two countries, extending beyond traditional areas into emerging fields such as digital governance and renewable energy, as both sides look to translate shared interests into practical, actionable partnerships.
