Malaysia and Singapore officials discuss bilateral agenda including RTS and JS-SEZ developments.
On 21 September 2026, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, paid an introductory call on Mr. Foo Kok Jwee, Deputy Secretary (Management and Partnerships). The meeting provided an opportunity for the Malaysian and Singaporean sides to exchange views on the upcoming bilateral agenda and discuss areas of continued cooperation between the two neighbouring countries.
Discussions focused on several key matters in Malaysia–Singapore relations, including the upcoming Leaders’ Retreat, the Rapid Transit System (RTS), and the Johor–Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ). The exchange reflected the two sides’ ongoing engagement on matters of mutual interest and developments relevant to both countries.
The meeting also highlighted the strong interest among Malaysians and Singaporeans in developments in each other’s countries. This interest was noted as a reflection of the deep connections and close relations shared between the peoples of Malaysia and Singapore.
During the introductory call, both sides also discussed their readiness to extend support, assistance and cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The engagement provided an opportunity to maintain close communication as Malaysia and Singapore continue to work on matters within the bilateral agenda.
