The summit, held in the presence of Singapore’s Minister of State Gan Siow Huang, examined shifting economic and geopolitical ties between the Middle East and Asia, featuring a dialogue with former UN Ambassador Kishore Mahbubani.
H.E. Sheikh Jaber Deij Al-Malik Al-Sabah, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Singapore, participated in the Middle East-Asia Summit organised by First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) in the Republic of Singapore on Thursday, 24 September 2026, held in the presence of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Industry Gan Siow Huang, alongside a number of ambassadors, officials, and representatives of financial institutions and the business sector.
The summit examined the economic and geopolitical transformations the world is witnessing, the future of economic and investment relations between the Middle East and Asia, and ways to promote cooperation in trade, investment, finance, technology, energy and sustainability.
The summit’s activities included a dialogue session with Kishore Mahbubani, former Singaporean Ambassador to the United Nations and Founding Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, who discussed shifts in the balance of global power, the rise of Asia, and reflections on geopolitical developments affecting the economy and international order.
Ambassador Sheikh Jaber’s participation reflects Kuwait’s continued engagement with forums exploring the deepening economic ties between the Middle East and Asia, at a time of significant global economic and geopolitical transformation.
The summit underscores Singapore’s role as a convening point for dialogue between Middle Eastern and Asian financial and policy leaders, bringing together diplomatic and business communities to examine the region’s evolving economic landscape.
