Australia and Singapore advanced engagement on artificial intelligence through the Australian AI Innovators Mission to Singapore, which connected Australian technology companies with Singapore’s government, industry and innovation communities. The mission showcased Australian AI capabilities and explored opportunities for international business and technology engagement.

Deputy Australian High Commissioner Emily Follett spoke during the opening of the AI Transformation Forum, where discussions focused on moving from ambition and capability towards practical impact from artificial intelligence. The forum provided a setting for Australian innovators and Singaporean stakeholders to exchange perspectives on the development and deployment of AI technologies.

Austrade supported the participation of 25 Australian innovators in the mission. The companies shared practical perspectives on deploying AI at scale, establishing trusted foundations for adoption and translating emerging technologies into measurable outcomes.

The programme also featured contributions from AI Singapore, OpenAI, Mastercard and SJ Group, as well as other representatives from Singapore’s innovation ecosystem. Their participation added perspectives on AI adoption, technology development and the practical use of artificial intelligence in business and institutional settings.

The Australian High Commission in Singapore said the mission demonstrated Australia’s growing AI capabilities while highlighting Singapore’s connected environment for innovation and business development. The engagement was intended to create opportunities for Australian companies and institutions to develop relationships with Singaporean counterparts and explore potential activity in regional markets.

The mission also provided an opportunity to present Australian expertise to Singaporean government, industry and innovation stakeholders. Discussions on AI deployment and adoption addressed practical considerations linked to scaling technology, establishing trust and converting new solutions into measurable results.
