Meeting highlighted Indonesia-Philippines relations, ASEAN cooperation, and Sun Media’s longstanding engagement with Philippine affairs.
On 8 October 2026, IN Diplomacy Editor-in-Chief Ms. Nomita Dhar and team members Alma Amarthatia and Rezkia Maghriby Yoandra met with Mr. Glenn Joseph D. Teh, Second Secretary and Consul at the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Jakarta. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss Indonesia-Philippines relations, regional cooperation and potential areas for future media engagement, building on Sun Media’s longstanding connection with the Philippines through its publications.
The meeting was part of Sun Media’s ongoing engagement with diplomatic missions through its editorial platforms, IN Diplomacy and IndoConnect. Sun Media has maintained a connection with the Philippines through Partner Philippines, a publication dedicated to Filipino business, tourism, culture and regional engagement.
The discussion highlighted the close relationship between Indonesia and the Philippines, neighbouring countries and founding members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Their bilateral partnership encompasses trade, maritime cooperation, security, energy, investment, connectivity and people-to-people exchanges. Both countries also work together on regional priorities and ASEAN integration.
The conversation also touched on the Philippines’ preparations for its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026. The country has placed emphasis on raising ASEAN awareness and promoting regional cooperation, with Indonesia identified as a key partner in advancing public diplomacy and regional engagement.
