PM Lee Hsien Loong to visit Rome, Italy for the G20 Summit (Oct 2021)

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will make a working visit from 28 October to 1 November 2021 to attend the G20 Summit in Rome, Italy, at the invitation of His Excellency Mario Draghi, Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, in Italy’s capacity as the 2021 G20 Presidency.

The Italian G20 Presidency’s agenda rests on three main pillars of “People, Planet, Prosperity”, with the focus on ensuring a swift international response to the COVID-19 pandemic, looking beyond the crisis towards a sustainable and inclusive recovery, and securing a firm commitment to protect our climate and environment. Apart from participating in G20 discussions, Prime Minister Lee will have bilateral meetings with Leaders of other countries on the sidelines of the Summit.

Prime Minister Lee will be accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, and senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat will be the Acting Prime Minister during Prime Minister’s absence as Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean will be on leave and not available to act.
