Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his counterpart in India PM Narendra Modi called in conjunction with the joint virtual launch of the PayNow-UPI linkage

SINGAPORE’S Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on the phone in conjunction with the joint virtual launch of the PayNow-UPI linkage on 21st February 2023 where they reaffirmed Singapore’s and India’s close, comprehensive, and forward-looking ties, which are supported by regular high-level meetings and active collaboration in a range of fields.

The Prime Ministers also emphasized the importance of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) as a venue for new bilateral endeavors. They expressed hope that this strong partnership would foster more opportunities for cross-border exchange and would further contribute to strengthening trade and interpersonal ties.
