On April 25, 2023, at separate ceremonies held at the Istana, three foreign Heads of Mission formally presented their credentials to President Halimah Yacob, marking the official commencement of their diplomatic assignments in Singapore.

H.E. Allaster Edward Cox, High Commissioner to Singapore (Australia):
His Excellency Allaster Edward Cox, the High Commissioner of the Commonwealth of Australia, brings with him a wealth of diplomatic experience, particularly in Southeast Asia. Cox served as Australia’s Ambassador to Vietnam from 2008 to 2012 and as High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam from 2001 to 2004. He also held key positions as Deputy Head of Mission to Indonesia (2017-2021) and Malaysia (1998-2000). Cox, a graduate in Economics and Law from Sydney University, recently served as the First Assistant Secretary for Strategy and Development at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

H.E. Raúl Juan Pollak Giampietro, Ambassador to Singapore (Oriental Republic of Uruguay):
Ambassador Raúl Juan Pollak Giampietro, born in Montevideo, Uruguay, presented his credentials as the Ambassador of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay. Holding a Ph.D. in Law and Social Sciences, Ambassador Pollak Giampietro started his diplomatic career in 1986 and has since served in various capacities, including as Ambassador to Vietnam, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. He also held the position of Director-General of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as a Professor at the Universidad ORT in Montevideo.

H.E. Baudelaire Ndong Ella, High Commissioner to Singapore (Gabonese Republic):
High Commissioner Baudelaire Ndong Ella, currently the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to China, concurrently accredited as High Commissioner to Singapore, has an extensive diplomatic career. His service includes roles as Gabon’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York and Geneva. High Commissioner Ndong Ella also served as Deputy Permanent Representative to the African Union and played significant roles in various international organizations. He holds a Postgraduate degree in international law and human rights from the University of Nantes in France.
