Singapore’s urban landscape is set to be transformed into a mesmerizing visual playground as i Light Singapore 2023, Asia’s leading sustainable light festival, returns for another spectacular edition. Organized by the Urban Redevelopment Authority and presented by DBS, the festival promises to delight the senses with immersive light art installations and thought-provoking programs. From June 1 to June 25, 2023, the festival will showcase 14 captivating light art installations created by both local and international artists, all designed with energy-saving lighting and environmentally-friendly materials.
One of the standout installations, “Glacier Dreams” by Refik Anadol, in collaboration with Julius Baer and Marina Bay Sands, will grace the façade of the ArtScience Museum. Composed of numerous truncated pyramids, Prism boasts dynamic and translucent colored surfaces that transition from natural light shafts during the day to glowing beacons of interactive artificial lighting at night. This installation aims to captivate audiences with its ever-changing beauty while encouraging reflection on the potential of sustainable lighting solutions.
