Ambassador Ishikawa hosts an event highlighting strong bilateral ties and mutual support.

AMBASSADOR of Japan to Singapore, His Excellency Hiroshi Ishikawa, hosted a reception on 19th February 2024 to celebrate the 64th birthday of His Majesty the Emperor Naruhito of Japan. The event was attended by about 800 guests, including government officials including Guest of Honour representing Singapore – Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Ms. Grace Fu. She was accompanied by her parliamentary colleagues MPs Mr Darryl David, and Mr Edward Chia.

In his speech, Ambassador Ishikawa praised the achievements in the Japan-Singapore relationship over the past year and expressed the embassy’s commitment to further enhancing bilateral ties. The event featured Japanese food, beverages, and products, showcasing the rich cultural and culinary heritage of Japan. Guests were treated to a tuna-cutting show and had the opportunity to sample a variety of Japanese offerings.

The Japanese embassy also used the occasion to raise funds for the Noto Peninsula Earthquake relief efforts. The response from guests during such challenging times demonstrated the solidarity and support between the two nations and is a testament to Japan’s and Singapore’s strong and enduring friendship.
