Saudi Arabia’s Expenditure Efficiency and Project Authority (EXPRO) visits Singapore to exchange insights on efficient governance, technology, and sustainability initiatives.

Singapore, November 22, 2024 – The Expenditure Efficiency and Project Authority (EXPRO), led by Chief Executive Eng. Abdulrazzaq Al-Aujan, held a series of discussions and site visits in Singapore to explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange. The delegation engaged with various government agencies to learn about Singapore’s innovative approaches to expenditure efficiency, sustainable practices, and governance.

The delegation commenced its visit by meeting with the Singapore National Environment Agency (NEA), which showcased its use of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency in water conservation, carbon emissions reduction, and waste recycling. The delegation explored how these technologies could be applied in Saudi Arabia to optimise spending and resource management.

A visit to the Port of Singapore and its innovation centre under the Maritime and Port Authority provided the Saudi delegation with insights into the advanced operational practices that have established Singapore as a global maritime hub. At the Marina Barrage, the delegation observed the National Water Agency’s strategies for water management and sustainability.

The Saudi Ministry of Education’s initiatives were a focal point in discussions about enhancing education quality and its relationship to cost-efficiency. A collaborative session with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy allowed for an exchange of expertise in public policy formulation and training, highlighting Singapore’s successful models for capacity-building.

The delegation also engaged with the Singapore Ministry of Health, where discussions centred on enhancing spending efficiency and adopting global best practices in healthcare delivery. They later visited the Ministry of Digital and Information Development, delving into cutting-edge technologies used in government services and strategies to meet the growing technological demands of governance.

This visit reflects EXPRO’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and leveraging global best practices to enhance the Kingdom’s economic efficiency and governance capabilities.
