
The Odia Society of Singapore commemorated Utkal Divas 2025 with cultural performances, traditional food, and the presence of dignitaries
The Odia Society of Singapore celebrated Utkal Divas 2025 with a vibrant event held on Saturday, 12 April 2025, from 1.30 PM to 6.00 PM at the Global Indian International School. The celebration aimed to honour the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and unite the Odia diaspora in Singapore.

The event was graced by the High Commissioner of India to Singapore, H.E. Dr. Shilpak Ambule, who attended as a Guest of Honour. His presence highlighted the strong ties between the Indian community in Singapore and their cultural roots. The celebration featured an array of cultural performances, showcasing traditional music, dance, and storytelling that reflected the spirit and pride of Odisha.
A major highlight of the evening was the specially curated Odia dinner, prepared by renowned chefs Sambit Suman from the Institute of Hotel Management (IHM) and Vijay Pradhan from the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC). Their dishes brought authentic flavours of Odisha to the gathering, adding a culinary delight to the cultural experience.


The event offered a platform for community bonding, while also promoting Odisha’s cultural identity in a global setting. The organisers expressed their appreciation to all the volunteers, performers, and attendees who contributed to the success of the event.
