President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviews progress at Zaamin Technopark in Jizzakh, where the first facility has begun operations, marking a milestone in the region’s industrial development.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, on 22 July 2025 to visit and reviewed the latest developments at Zaamin Technopark, a special industrial zone aimed at boosting regional industry and employment.

The technopark, covering 400 hectares, was initiated by the President on 27 June last year. In partnership with Chinese investors, the project foresees 31 investment initiatives worth a total of USD 1.2 billion.

The first enterprise within the technopark has now started operations — a concrete products facility developed by Chinese company Xinjiang Honglin Tiandi, representing an investment of USD 10 million and creating 60 jobs.

Work on the second project is nearly complete: a USD 42 million venture under the Midea brand, which will manufacture 300,000 household electrical appliances annually and provide 150 jobs.

In total, nine projects have been allocated in the first phase. Construction is ongoing for seven more facilities valued at approximatelyUSD 300 million. These will focus on producing construction materials, metal structures, electrical and chemical products, and will include logistics and training centres.

Once fully operational, Zaamin Technopark is expected to produce industrial goods worth about 5 trillion UZS, launch 15 new product types, and achieve export potential of USD 70 million. Crucially, the initiative aims to generate more than 5,000 jobs for the region.

During his visit, President Mirziyoyev called for swift progress, full support for investors, and underscored the need to train skilled workers and create new employment opportunities, particularly for young people.
