Through the WNI Meeting (PWNI), the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore continues to enhance cooperation and legal protection for Indonesian citizens and migrant workers
The Indonesian Embassy in Singapore (KBRI Singapore) continues its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperation with Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) through the WNI Meeting (Pertemuan WNI or PWNI) initiative. Held on 26 October 2025, the event served as a platform for dialogue, education, and interactive engagement aimed at raising legal awareness and enhancing protection for all Indonesian citizens (WNI) and PMI in Singapore.

The programme, themed “Berdikari dan Berdiskusi PMI–KBRI: Edukasi & Interaksi”, was designed to create a safe and open space where participants could share experiences, ask questions, and receive guidance directly from Embassy officials. The discussions emphasised the importance of staying informed about Singapore’s legal framework and highlighted the Embassy’s continuous efforts to safeguard the rights and welfare of the Indonesian community.
During the session, Embassy representatives provided legal counselling on the prevention of legal violations and criminal acts, including practical advice on employment regulations, contractual obligations, and reporting mechanisms for abuse or exploitation. Participants were encouraged to stay vigilant, informed, and proactive in protecting their rights while working or residing in Singapore.
In his remarks, a representative of KBRI Singapore reiterated that this initiative reflects the Embassy’s deep commitment to providing holistic protection for every Indonesian abroad. Beyond offering consular and legal assistance, the Embassy aims to empower the community through education, preventive action, and open communication.
The event also fostered stronger community ties between PMI and KBRI Singapore, reinforcing mutual trust and cooperation. By maintaining open channels of dialogue, both sides can work hand in hand to address challenges, promote lawful conduct, and ensure that every Indonesian national in Singapore feels safe, protected, and valued.
KBRI Singapore reaffirmed its dedication to continue being present, serving, and protecting Indonesians wherever they are — in line with the spirit of “diplomasi perlindungan” (diplomatic protection) that remains a top priority of Indonesia’s overseas missions.
