Discussions focused on investment opportunities and industry collaboration to strengthen competitive and sustainable regional manufacturing
On 13 February 2026, the Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore and the Deputy Chief of Mission, together with the Embassy’s economic team, met with the President of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) to explore potential manufacturing partnerships and investment opportunities. The meeting highlighted prospects for closer cooperation between government bodies, industry associations and the private sector.

Discussions placed particular emphasis on the Batam–Bintan–Karimun (BBK) area, which was identified as a strategic zone for manufacturing development. The parties examined how complementary strengths between Indonesia and Singapore could be leveraged to enhance regional manufacturing capacity and attract new investments.
The meeting also underscored the role of industry associations as catalysts for investment promotion, business matchmaking and technology collaboration. Strengthening institutional linkages was seen as key to facilitating smoother engagement between investors and manufacturing stakeholders in both countries.
Participants further noted that close collaboration among governments, industry associations and the private sector would support the development of a competitive and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem. This approach aimed to maximise the benefits of existing infrastructure, conducive policies and the BBK region’s logistical proximity to Singapore.
