The High Commissioner of the Republic of Rwanda to Singapore, H.E. Innocent B. Muhizi, held meetings with senior representatives from Singapore’s digital regulatory authority and private sector to explore enhanced cooperation in digital transformation and climate action. The engagements focused on strengthening bilateral collaboration in technology, sustainability, and capacity building.

The meetings formed part of the High Commissioner’s ongoing diplomatic outreach to deepen Rwanda–Singapore relations across priority sectors. Discussions were conducted with public and private sector stakeholders to identify areas of mutual interest aligned with Rwanda’s development agenda.

In his meeting with Timothy Chin, Assistant Chief Executive of the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), the High Commissioner discussed opportunities for cooperation in digital transformation, telecommunications regulation, and information and communications technology (ICT) capacity building. The exchange also covered collaboration in cybersecurity frameworks and strengthening innovation ecosystem partnerships between the two countries.

Separately, the High Commissioner met with Chin Hwee Tan, Chairman of Climate Bridge International, and Alvin Lim, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder. Discussions centred on potential partnerships in climate action and sustainable development, including cooperation in carbon markets, renewable energy, green finance, and capacity-building initiatives to support Rwanda’s green growth strategy.

The engagements reflected a shared interest in leveraging Singapore’s expertise in digital governance and sustainable finance to support Rwanda’s economic transformation and environmental objectives. Both sides expressed openness to continued dialogue and structured collaboration in the identified priority areas.

The meetings concluded with an understanding to pursue follow-up engagements aimed at translating discussions into practical initiatives, further strengthening Rwanda–Singapore cooperation in digital innovation and sustainable development.
