The Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirms that Rwanda’s diplomatic representation to Australia is based at its High Commission in Singapore.

Letters of Credence are formal documents issued by a head of state to introduce an ambassador or high commissioner to the receiving country’s head of state. Their presentation is an established diplomatic procedure through which a country’s appointed representative is formally introduced to the host government.

The process generally involves the submission of copies of the credentials to the relevant government authorities, followed by the presentation of the original Letters of Credence to the receiving country’s head of state. These formalities are central to the accreditation of diplomatic representatives and their official recognition by the host country.

The engagement in Canberra provided an opportunity to complete the submission of the credential documents to the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in accordance with established diplomatic protocol.
