Diplomatic meeting explores cooperation in cybersecurity, trade, investment, science and education.
H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, received H.E. Renata Jasilionyte, Ambassador of Lithuania to Singapore, at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence on 29 October 2026. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two diplomats to discuss Thailand–Lithuania relations and explore opportunities to expand bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, following Ambassador Jasilionyte’s assumption of duty.
The meeting was held as part of Ambassador Jasilionyte’s diplomatic engagement following her appointment as Lithuania’s Ambassador to Singapore, with her jurisdiction also covering Thailand. The courtesy meeting allowed both ambassadors to exchange views on the current state of bilateral relations and identify areas where further engagement could be pursued.
During their discussion, the two ambassadors reviewed the progress of Thailand–Lithuania relations, building on the official visit to Thailand by Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in July 2026. The visit provided a recent reference point for their exchange on bilateral engagement and opportunities to advance relations between the two countries.
They also discussed potential areas for expanding cooperation, including cybersecurity and efforts to combat online crime. These subjects were among the areas of shared interest addressed during the meeting, reflecting the two countries’ intention to explore practical opportunities for engagement in digital security and the prevention of cyber-related offences.
Trade and investment were also included in the discussions, alongside cooperation in science and education. The exchange covered several areas with potential for further bilateral engagement, providing an opportunity for both ambassadors to consider avenues for developing closer ties between Thailand and Lithuania.
Ambassador Jasilionyte’s meeting with Ambassador Damrongmanee also provided an opportunity to establish diplomatic contact in connection with her assumption of duty. With Lithuania’s diplomatic jurisdiction in Singapore extending to Thailand, the engagement offered a setting for the two representatives to discuss bilateral priorities and areas of common interest.
The meeting reflected the continued diplomatic engagement between Thailand and Lithuania, with both ambassadors exchanging views on opportunities to develop relations through cooperation in cybersecurity, trade, investment, science and education.
