New Murabba, a Public Investment Fund company, is building a 15‑minute downtown in northwest Riyadh where culture, mobility, commerce and daily life sit within seamless proximity. According New Murabba statement from the PIF Private Sector Forum in February 2026, the 14 million square metre masterplan dedicates a quarter of its net area to green space integrated with natural wadi systems.

The project showcased its delivery milestones at the PIF Private Sector Forum in Riyadh on 12 February 2026 and later joined the Saudi delegation at MIPIM 2026 in Cannes, France, from 9 to 13 March. As the company noted, “The PIF Private Sector Forum highlights how New Murabba is transitioning decisively into delivery.”

At the heart of the district stands The Mukaab, a 400‑metre cubic landmark that integrates artificial intelligence, robotics and holographic projection systems. In January 2026, New Murabba appointed Parsons as infrastructure lead design consultant for phase one, focusing on core utilities and mobility networks. A separate memorandum of understanding with South Korea’s Heerim Architects will explore architectural overlays for anchor assets and smart city features.

The company’s headquarters now hosts the Kingdom’s first operational Digital Twin, an in‑house system enabling real‑time monitoring and optimisation. A 45,000‑seat stadium designed by Arup is scheduled for completion in 2032 as part of Saudi Arabia’s FIFA 2034 World Cup bid, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The Mukaab and the first residential community are targeted for 2030, coinciding with Expo 2030. When finished, the development will house more than 90,000 residential units for over 280,000 residents.

With clear pathways for private‑sector collaboration already in place, New Murabba sets a benchmark for sustainable, human‑centred urbanism under Saudi Vision 2030.
