Saudi Arabia concluded the 1447 AH Hajj season in May 2026, facilitating the pilgrimage of more than 1.7 million worshippers from within the Kingdom and abroad. The information was released during an official press briefing by Saudi authorities following the conclusion of the 1447 AH Hajj season. The annual pilgrimage brought together pilgrims from around the world and involved coordinated efforts by government agencies, healthcare providers, security authorities and service providers across Makkah and the surrounding holy sites.

During the season, government medical teams provided more than 2.5 million healthcare services and deployed a range of advanced technologies, including medical robotics, drone-assisted medical delivery systems, and remote monitoring devices for high-risk pilgrims. Saudi authorities also utilised artificial intelligence-based systems to support crowd management and transportation operations, with the Sawaher platform monitoring pilgrim movement and the Al Mashaaer Al Mugaddassah Metro transporting more than two million passengers across the holy sites. Officials reported that the pilgrimage concluded without epidemic outbreaks despite ongoing global public health challenges.

Infrastructure and municipal services also supported the operation. Authorities reported the distribution and management of hundreds of millions of food and beverage items, while sanitation teams removed more than 266,000 tonnes of waste from Makkah and the surrounding pilgrimage areas. Additional environmental and infrastructural initiatives included planting 60,000 trees and installing 20,000 lighting units in Arafat.

The Makkah Route Initiative continued to facilitate pre-departure immigration procedures for pilgrims from participating countries. 388,694 pilgrims completed pre-clearance procedures through the programme across ten countries, with entry processing supported by digital and artificial intelligence-enabled systems.

Beyond the Hajj operation, Saudi Arabia continued humanitarian and development initiatives in the region. Through the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), assistance programmes were implemented to support displaced persons and vulnerable communities in Yemen.

A total of 1,707,301 pilgrims performed Hajj in 1447 AH, including approximately 1.54 million international pilgrims. Healthcare teams carried out 410 complex surgical procedures during the season, while the National Centre for Meteorology reported high forecast accuracy supported by artificial intelligence and automated monitoring systems.
