The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF), Air Chief Marshal (ACM) Sakesan Kantha, called on Singapore’s Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing, at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) on 24 June 2026. The meeting took place as part of ACM Sakesan’s introductory visit to Singapore from 23 to 25 June 2026 and served to reaffirm the longstanding defence relationship between Singapore and Thailand.

During the meeting, Mr Chan and ACM Sakesan exchanged views on regional geopolitical developments and discussed opportunities to strengthen defence cooperation between the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the RTAF. The engagement reflected the continued commitment of both countries to maintaining regular dialogue and enhancing bilateral defence relations.

ACM Sakesan’s visit formed part of an official programme aimed at fostering professional exchanges and strengthening military-to-military ties. In addition to his meeting with the Minister for Defence, ACM Sakesan called on Singapore’s Chief of Defence Force, Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, and Chief of Air Force, Major-General Kelvin Fan, following an inspection of the Guard of Honour at MINDEF.

As part of the visit, ACM Sakesan toured Sembawang Air Base and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Command, where he received briefings on the RSAF’s latest developments, including advancements in unmanned aerial capabilities. The visits provided an opportunity for professional exchanges on operational developments and future areas of cooperation between the two air forces.
