Tourism Perak is strengthening its presence in Singapore through Malaysia Fest 2026, highlighting the state’s latest tourism offerings while exploring improved connectivity to attract more Singaporean visitors.
Tourism promotion efforts for Malaysia’s State of Perak received a boost as a delegation from Tourism Perak Malaysia, led by Chief Executive Officer Mr. Suhaimi bin Abu Hassan Shari, paid a courtesy call on the High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, H.E. Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, on 30 July 2026. The visit underscored Perak’s commitment to expanding its tourism footprint in Singapore, one of its key visitor markets.
The delegation was in Singapore to participate in Malaysia Fest 2026, held from 30 July to 2 August 2026 at Singapore Expo (Halls 5A and 5B). The annual event serves as a major platform to promote Malaysia’s tourism, culture, cuisine and products, offering visitors the opportunity to discover travel experiences from across the country.
During the meeting, Tourism Perak introduced a range of new tourism products that reflect the state’s diverse attractions. These include eco-tourism experiences, wellness retreats and medical tourism offerings, positioning Perak as a destination that caters to nature lovers, health-conscious travellers and visitors seeking quality healthcare services. Festival-goers were encouraged to visit the Tourism Perak booth at Malaysia Fest to learn more about the state’s latest tourism experiences.
The delegation also highlighted ongoing efforts to improve accessibility between Singapore and Perak. Plans are being considered to increase the frequency of direct flights, while the upcoming completion of the Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link is expected to provide travellers with a more seamless journey northwards via Malaysia’s Electric Train Service (ETS). These developments are anticipated to make travel to Perak more convenient for visitors from Singapore.
The High Commission of Malaysia in Singapore welcomed the Tourism Perak delegation and expressed its support for the state’s promotional efforts. As Malaysia continues to strengthen regional tourism cooperation, initiatives such as Malaysia Fest 2026 play an important role in enhancing destination awareness and encouraging greater cross-border travel between Singapore and Malaysia.
