Thai and Chinese ambassadors jointly discussed regional, economic, energy and welfare matters.
On 23 September 2026, H.E. Waraphannee Damrongmanee, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, welcomed H.E. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Singapore, at the Ambassador’s Residence in Singapore. The meeting provided an opportunity for the two ambassadors to exchange views on issues of mutual interest, including regional security, ASEAN’s role, investment promotion, high-technology industries, energy security, and the welfare and assistance of their respective companies and nationals residing in Singapore.
During the meeting, the Thai and Chinese sides discussed regional security and the role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Their exchange also covered the promotion of investment, with particular attention to high-technology industries, as well as issues related to energy security.
The two ambassadors also exchanged views on matters concerning their respective companies and nationals residing in Singapore, including welfare and assistance provided to them. The discussion reflected the range of issues of mutual interest between Thailand and China in the Singapore context.
The meeting was held at the Ambassador’s Residence and involved the two heads of mission in Singapore. No further details regarding specific agreements, initiatives or follow-up measures were provided.
