The Indonesia Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2026 opened on 6 October 2026 at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta, with policymakers, businesses, financial institutions and sustainability organisations discussing climate action, decarbonisation and sustainable economic development. Hosted by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the two-day forum runs from 6-7 October and addresses energy transition, green industry, sustainable finance, food systems, water security and sustainable urban development.

Mr. Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of KADIN, and Mr. Rosan Roeslani, Indonesia’s Minister of Investment and Downstream Industry and Chief Executive Officer of Danantara Indonesia, opened the forum with remarks at the Kempinski Grand Ballroom. Ms. Retno Marsudi, UN Special Envoy on Water, and Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), delivered keynote speeches.

The opening discussions examined energy security in the low-carbon era, followed by sessions on green industry and food systems. Speakers included Ms. Helen Clarkson OBE, Chief Executive Officer of The Climate Group; Mr. Justin Ma, Regional Head of Transition Finance and Advisory at Standard Chartered; Mr. Ashish Sharma, Executive Director of Group Sustainability at DBS Bank; Mr. Bobby Gafur Umar, President Director of PT Maharaksa Biru Energi Tbk; and Mr. Agung Wicaksono, Director of Transformation & Business Sustainability at PT Pertamina (Persero). Mr. Antonio Castellano, Partner at McKinsey & Company Singapore, moderated the energy security session.

Beyond the plenary programme, thematic discussions examined renewable energy, forestry, climate resilience, blue carbon, sustainable infrastructure and other decarbonisation issues. Knowledge partners including businesses and industry associations led these sessions, which explored policy, financing, technology and investment questions in greater depth

The programme continues on 7 October with discussions on water security, competitive and liveable cities, investment, innovation, talent and economic development. The event also includes representatives from Indonesian and international private-sector companies, state-owned enterprises, multilateral banks, development finance institutions, intergovernmental organisations, industry associations, think tanks, academia and philanthropies
