Join us in bidding farewell to Le Le, the Giant Panda cub, as he embarks on his journey to join China’s conservation program.
SINGAPORE, 14 November 2023 – Visitors to the Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest at River Wonders will have the opportunity to spend quality time with Le Le, the beloved Giant Panda cub, before he departs for China on 16 January 2024. Singapore Airlines, the Official Airline for his upcoming flight, will ensure Le Le’s safe and comfortable travel. Upon reaching China, Le Le will officially join the country’s conservation program to contribute to the protection of his species.
Le Le’s final public appearance is scheduled for 13 December 2023, after which he will enter quarantine until his departure date. The farewell campaign includes photo points, a farewell fan mail mailbox, and a final farewell party on Le Le’s last day in his exhibit.
As part of the natural progression of the Giant Panda species, Jia Jia, Le Le’s companion, has begun displaying signs of rejection. The panda care team is diligently preparing for a smooth transition as the bears timeshare their exhibit. Visitors can see Le Le from 10 am to 2 pm and Jia Jia from 2 pm to 6 pm during this period.
Le Le has undergone two vaccinations and will undergo health checks during quarantine. A customized crate is being constructed for his journey, and positive reinforcement training is underway to ensure a stress-free transfer on the day of his flight. Mandai Wildlife Group is collaborating with Singapore Airlines to ensure a comfortable journey for Le Le.
