Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Alibek Bakayev, engages in constructive discussions during the fourth round of Political Consultations in Singapore, focusing on bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
At the invitation of the Singaporean government, Alibek Bakayev, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, embarked on a working visit to the Republic of Singapore. The primary objective of his visit was to participate in the fourth round of Political Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Kazakhstan and Singapore. The Singaporean delegation, led by Kevin Cheok, Deputy Secretary (Asia-Pacific) of the Singapore Foreign Ministry, welcomed Bakayev to engage in discussions aimed at fostering closer diplomatic ties and collaboration between the two nations.
During the consultations, held in a trusting and constructive atmosphere, Bakayev and Cheok exchanged views on various bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest. They expressed satisfaction with the progressive development of bilateral political dialogue, particularly in the post-crisis period, marked by increased high-level contacts. Discussions also included plans for mutual visits and events for the remainder of the year, indicating a commitment to sustained engagement and cooperation.
The discussions also highlighted the positive dynamics of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Singapore. Both delegations emphasized the complementary nature of their economies and identified promising areas for further collaboration, such as water resources management, smart cities, transportation connectivity, agriculture, digital economy, green economy, tourism, science, and education. The visit concluded with expressions of gratitude from the Kazakh delegation for Singapore’s hospitality and a mutual agreement to continue regular political consultations to address mutual interests and enhance bilateral ties.
